Another advantage of matte linseed oil paint is that it can be applied relatively thickly without problems. This can be useful, for example, when you want the paint to fill in many nail holes and irregularities. It's even possible to apply the paint with a thick painting brush, instead of a regular paintbrush! Naturally, the most beautiful result is achieved by painting thinly and multiple times, but unlike regular linseed oil paint, \"raisining\" does not occur when the matte linseed oil paint is applied too thickly.
