Linseed oil (raw, cold-pressed)

This linseed oil has been specially developed for mixing Av jord's egg tempera.

Available in two sizes, 1 litre and 5 litres.

This is the linseed oil you should use when mixing your own egg tempera from Färg i påse. It is very important that the linseed oil is of high quality and that it is purified, raw, and cold-pressed. That the linseed oil is purified or refined means that it has been cleaned of impurities and mucilage so that the paint can oxidize ("dry") quickly and well. Av jord's linseed oil meets this high quality. It is Swedish-made on a KRAV-certified farm called Berga gård, only 10 km from Av jord in Lekeberg.

NOTE! If a lower quality linseed oil is used, the oxidation of the egg tempera can go wrong; either the oxidation is delayed or the oxidation stops completely, and then no strong paint surface is formed, and the paint can rub off when touched.

Each shade requires different amounts of egg and linseed oil. The exact consumption is stated under each colour. If you want to make a quick estimate, calculate a maximum of 3 dl of linseed oil/paint in a bag and a maximum of approximately 3-4 eggs/paint in a bag.

IMPREGNATION:
Crack 3 eggs, then measure an equal amount of linseed oil, mix into an egg oil. Add an equal amount of water as the egg oil. You now have a colourless emulsion for impregnating wood, plaster or other material that needs protection or binding. This mixture is sufficient for about 20 sqm.
