Linseed oil paint iron oxide red

Made from Swedish cold-pressed boiled linseed oil and color pigments. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor painting.

Iron red is used as an ANTI-CORROSION PAINT. The pigment Hematite is a natural iron oxide with a scale-like structure, which, combined with linseed oil, provides extremely effective protection against rust. Use the paint as a primer on iron. Apply two thin coats.

On rusted iron, first wire brush off any loose rust. The surface does not need to be completely smooth. The iron red penetrates affected surfaces and prevents further corrosion.

If you wish to paint over the iron red with another color, you can do so with any of our other linseed oil paint colors.

Optimal rust protection is achieved by choosing our linseed oil paint Graphite, which is a traditional color for iron.

NOTE: The color sample shows three different colors. (Top) standard color, (left) a mixture of equal parts standard color and White Titanium-Zinc (1+1), and (right) a mixture of one part standard color and three parts White Titanium-Zinc (1+3). You can mix these different colors yourself.
