Oxide Green Falu Red Paint is a dark forest green, matte falu red paint. Although this color is not traditional in Swedish building culture, it has its origins in iron-based oxide pigments, a type of pigment used in paint production since the 19th century. Green colors for outdoor use only became more common in the latter part of the 19th century, when they were primarily used as linseed oil paint on window frames, doors, and woodwork details. The use of dark green tones on entire facades is a more recent phenomenon, where Oxide Green with its muted tones has become a popular and natural choice for modern facades, especially in residential areas and holiday homes in nature-rich environments. Our Oxide Green Falu Red Paint is pre-mixed and ready to use. NOTE! The color reproduction on the screen is not 100% accurate to reality.
Gysinge's falu red paint for outdoor use is manufactured in our own factory from pigments, stone-ground rye flour, and water according to historical recipes. Linseed oil is added to all colors except Red Ochre Falu Red Paint without linseed oil. It is easy to apply, provides an opaque surface, and is easy to maintain and repaint. Falu red paint works excellent on rough timber and untreated facades. However, it should not be used on planed wood, or on surfaces previously painted with oil paint or plastic paint.
