Rödockra Falu Red Paint with linseed oil is a light red, matte falu red paint with a tendency towards brick red. The color is unique to Gysinge Byggnadsvård and is therefore called Gysingeröd. During the 18th century and early 19th century, it is believed that this particular shade of light brick red was the most common among red-painted buildings. The red color on the facade was often combined with linseed oil painted window and door casings in light gray, such as 30% Green Umbra linseed oil paint. Our Rödockra Falu Red Paint without linseed oil is pre-mixed and ready to use. NOTE! The color reproduction on the screen does not 100% match reality.
Gysinge's falu red paint for outdoor use is manufactured in our own factory from pigments, stone-ground rye flour, and water according to historical recipes. Linseed oil is added to all colors except Rödockra Falu Red Paint without linseed oil. It is easy to apply, provides an opaque surface, and is easy to maintain and repaint. Falu red paint works excellent on rough-sawn timber and untreated facades. However, it should not be used on planed wood or on surfaces previously painted with oil paint or plastic paint.
