Wallpaper Gårdskontoret, light grey features a classic small checked pattern in soft blue and grey tones on a light grey background. This particular wallpaper originally covered the walls of a farm office at Wirum Manor in Småland, Sweden, and dates from around 1880.

It is worth noting that the wallpaper was originally used on the walls, as small-patterned wallpapers were also quite often used on ceilings in late-19th-century interiors. As a wallpaper for the walls of simple cottages, or in rooms such as entrance halls, kitchens and small bedrooms, “Gårdskontoret” creates an unbeatable sense of atmosphere when combined with a white-painted plank ceiling, scrubbed wooden floors and rather dark woodwork. The pattern has a straight pattern repeat and the edges are trimmed.
