Wallpaper Hullebo, pink is an Art Nouveau wallpaper from around the turn of the 20th century, featuring delicately scattered flower stems and lobed leaves that create a playful and harmonious expression. One of the great sources of inspiration during this period was Japanese woodblock prints, with their masterfully composed botanical decorations, and some similar qualities can perhaps be sensed here. With the arrival of the Art Nouveau style around the turn of the 20th century, a wide variety of new and modern patterns were introduced for wallpapers, textiles and other decorative surfaces. These ranged from strictly geometric designs to flowing and floral patterns.

Hullebo is available in both a muted medium green and a soft deep red, both fashionable colours typical of the period around 1900–1910. Combined with a matching border, the pattern creates a confident Art Nouveau atmosphere and is particularly effective alongside woodwork painted in soft shades such as Art Nouveau beige, English red or green umber. Hullebo was discovered in one of the workers’ homes at Gysinge during an inventory carried out in the early 1990s.
