Wallpaper Nästgårds, English red features an elegant medallion pattern printed in red on a beige background. The pattern is typical of the second half of the 19th century, and the original with its cornflower-blue print was found in the downstairs hall of the Nästgård House at Gysinge. It was probably hung in 1887.

The medallion pattern balances ornamentation and restraint, making it easy to combine with both period-appropriate woodwork colours and more muted interior tones. In addition to English red, the same pattern is also available in blue and brown, both typical colour variations from the period that illustrate how single-colour printing was adapted to different rooms and tastes during the 19th century.

Today, Nästgårds works equally well in settings where the aim is to recreate a historically authentic interior and in contemporary interiors seeking classic patterns with depth and rhythm. Its thin paper and distemper printing give the wallpaper a distinctive character and an authentic feel, while the choice of several period-appropriate colours makes it versatile.

Wallpapering instructions: Instructions from Gysinge

IMPORTANT: Nästgårds is printed using traditional wallpaper-printing methods and must therefore be trimmed before hanging. This means cutting away the unprinted edge along ONE long side (approximately 2 cm) and allowing the trimmed edge to overlap the previous wallpaper drop.
