Graphite is especially suitable for painting iron and sheet metal. The pigment consists of a greasy mineral carbon that is also used as a lubricant and in lead pencils. Surfaces painted with Graphite linseed oil paint get a beautiful, slightly shimmering luster. On bare iron outdoors, one first primes with our red lead paint as rust protection.

Example: A painted sheet metal roof is heavily exposed to UV light, ice, and snow, leading to a rapid breakdown of the linseed oil that binds the paint. If the roof is painted with Graphite, the greasy pigment holds the paint surface together in a fantastic way, and the roof remains beautiful year after year.

You can, of course, also paint with Graphite on wood and other substrates.

Keep in mind that Graphite may rub off slightly when touched, so choose to paint surfaces where this is not an issue.
